Validating User Stories

Updated 1 month ago by Copado Solutions

Copado v10 and v11

The validation of a user story relies on a validation deployment with the selected metadata components selected in the user story.

The validation deployment button will be enabled whenever there are Git commits or metadata added.

In order to have this functionality working, you must have a valid org credential for source and destination.

On the User Story page, you can review the information of the validation in the Latest Deployment Validation Results section.

Copado v12

From Copado V12, the validation deployment button has been removed from the destination path and a new custom button named Validate Changes has been added to the user story layout.

How It Works
  1. Click on Validate Changes.
  2. You will be redirected to the intermediary page where the action is being processed. Once the validation job is completed, you will be redirected to the user story layout again. If you do not want to wait, you can return back to the user story by clicking on the Go Back link.

On the User Story page, you can review the validation information in the Validation Deployment Results section.

If there is a following commit after the validation, the Last Validation Deployment Status will be updated to Outdated in order to remind you to validate once again with the latest metadata in the user story.

How did we do?
