Taking a Snapshot

Updated 4 days ago by Copado Solutions

A Snapshot is a full backup of the selected metadata types into a repository/branch.

To take a snapshot, follow the steps below:

  1. Navigate to the Git Snapshots tab and select an existing Git Snapshot record.
  2. Click on Take Snapshot Now (Create Snapshot Now if you are in v11 or under).
  3. Optionally, enter a commit message.

As of v11, you have the option to apply Environment Variables and Global Find and Replace rules (YAML) to the snapshot. The YAML file is taken from the deployment flow. If there is no YAML file in the deployment flow,  it will be taken from the environment.

With the frequency set, Copado will create a schedule job and will automatically back up your Salesforce org.
