Type Filtered Metadata Grid

Updated 6 months ago by Copado Solutions

The Type Filtered Metadata Grid is specially designed and recommended for orgs handling extensive metadata. You can always switch between the Classic and Type-Filtered grids.

  • Scalability:
    • Type-Filtered Grid enables Copado users to handle orgs with extensive metadata components (hundreds of thousands).
  • Retrieves by metadata type:
    • Type-Filtered Grid retrieves metadata components from the source org filtering by selected metadata type.
  • Tab view on the grid:
    • Type-Filtered Grid has tab views where you can switch between retrieved metadata components and selected metadata components.
  • User-Friendly:
    • When selecting or deselecting metadata components, a smooth animation will be shown in the tab header.

Refreshing Metadata with Type Filtered Metadata Grid

Copado allows you to schedule a job to refresh the metadata index. In order to do so, you will first need to create a deployment with a URL Callout step and paste the following URL in the URL field: https://copado.herokuapp.com//json/v1/webhook/metadata/{ORG_CREDENTIAL_ID}?api_key={YOUR_API_KEY}&typeFiltered=true.

Once you have fulfilled this prerequisite, follow the steps below to create a scheduled job:

  1. Navigate to the Scheduled Jobs tab and click on New.
  2. Name your scheduled job.
  3. Click on Look up Copado Webhook and select Execute a Deployment.
  4. Select the Deployment record with the URL Callout.
  5. Select a running user.
  6. Click on Save.
  7. Once the record has been saved, click on Schedule.
  8. Select the desired scheduling criteria and click on Create Cron Expression.
  9. Save the scheduled job.
If you want to refresh specific metadata types, add &typeFiltered=true&types=MetadataType1,MetadataType2, etc. The URL would look like this: https://copado.herokuapp.com/json/v1/webhook/metadata/{YOUR_ORG_ID}?api_key={YOUR_API_KEY}&typeFiltered=true&types=CustomField,ApexClass.
